The Cross Party Group on Islands in the Scottish Parliament provides a forum for the discussion of issues relevant to Scotland's islands and the residents of island communities, and it aims to improve links between the Scottish Parliament and island communities. Secretariat for the CPG is provided by Scottish Rural Action and the Scottish Islands Federation.
In May 2024 the CPG Islands conducted a survey of its members to identify agenda topics for discussion with MSPs. Unsurprisingly, housing came up as the most pressing priority. With that in mind, we are pleased to announce that the next two CPGs will focus on Island Homes: Design, Planning & Costs.
Join us online on 09 October 2024 at 13:00 to 14:00 for the first CPG meeting with this focus. The scene will be set by short presentations from the Island Communities Housing Working Group, and from the Scottish Futures Trust. These will be followed by open space for you to share your experiences and views. A full agenda will be circulated prior to the day.
