COMMUNITY SHOWCASE

The inaugural Scottish Government Community Showcase was a standout feature of the Royal Highland Show 2024, held from June 20-23 at the Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh. The event involved 19 community organisations and attracted 2,674 visitors, surpassing our expectations and setting a high bar for future events.

The marquee, kindly provided by the Scottish Government, was designed to resemble a vibrant community hall, creating a warm and inviting environment. Its creative decor and interactive setup greatly contributed to the event’s success, offering a space that felt both familiar and engaging. Along with this atmosphere, attendees enjoyed a diverse array of interactive activities, including:

  • Face Painting
  • Electric Bike Charging
  • Storytelling Sessions
  • Live Music Performances
  • Creative Workshops

The impressive turnout was driven by our well-planned activities and engaging environment, particularly catering to families with children, retired couples, and third sector workers interested in rural and island Scotland.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Rural Community Showcase participants, visitors, and everyone else who contributed to making this event a memorable experience. We look forward to building on this success and continuing to celebrate the vibrant rural communities of Scotland at future Royal Highland Show events.
