We wanted to say a big thanks to Sheena Boyd who recently stepped down as a trustee of Scottish Rural Action. She was co-opted in 2017 and then elected as a Director in 2018, and she has certainly worked hard for her term! We are so grateful for her grounded knowledge and careful eye. Sheena works as a development officer for two development trusts based in East Ayrshire and also volunteers as a member of her hometown community council. She has forever shown her passion for community sustainability and participatory approaches to democracy at community level, with her interest in these areas stemming from concerns over the future effects of climate change and resource depletion. She is a professionally qualified accountant and her previous career was spent in accountancy practice, industry and charity.
Originally from Scotland, Sheena grew up in southeast England and has lived in rural Dumfries and Galloway for over 34 years and over that time has worked, studied, experienced unemployment and cared for family members, and is bringing up her four children here.
Thank you, Sheena, for all your hard work. We wish you the very best!
